Master of Social Work

The Master of Social Work (MSW) program at the University of Illinois is designed to prepare students for advanced practice and research in social work. This CSWE-accredited program offers both a traditional on-campus experience and a fully online option, allowing students to tailor their education to fit their needs. Students can choose between two concentrations: Advanced Clinical, focusing on direct practice, and Leadership and Social Change, which emphasizes macro practice. The program can be completed in as little as 12 months for those with Advanced Standing status or 18 months for traditional students. The online format includes weekly live Zoom classes, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Additionally, students have the flexibility to pursue their internships either full-time or part-time, making it accessible for those who cannot relocate. With a strong emphasis on community engagement and global social issues, graduates are well-equipped to make a significant impact in their fields.
