Online Journalism

The Online Journalism (B.A.) program at Hochschule Darmstadt is designed to equip students with essential journalistic skills tailored for the digital landscape. Over the course of seven semesters, students will learn to research, produce, edit, and present content across various online platforms. The curriculum emphasizes multimedia content creation, including text, audio, and video, while also covering the technical, creative, economic, and legal aspects of online media. Students will engage in practical projects with industry partners, gaining hands-on experience in real-world settings. The program also includes a mandatory internship in a journalistic environment, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for careers in online and social media editorial offices, mobile reporting, and cross-media newsrooms. The degree serves as a foundation for further studies in the Master's program in Media, Technology and Society.
