Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education

The Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education at Florida International University is a fully online program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for careers in childcare, child development, and early education for children from birth to age 8. The curriculum emphasizes the cognitive, language, and social/emotional development of young children, alongside general and early education theories and practices. Students will engage in courses covering classroom management, assessment techniques, family engagement, and literacy development, among others. Although this program does not lead to teacher certification, it prepares graduates for impactful roles in early childhood settings, addressing the growing demand for qualified early childhood specialists. With a focus on practical and theoretical knowledge, students will learn to support the holistic development of children in their formative years, making a significant difference in their lives and communities.
