Master of Social Work

The Online Master of Social Work (MSW) program at Boston University is designed to prepare students for leadership roles in social work, emphasizing social and economic justice. The program offers three tracks: Traditional, Human Service Experience, and Advanced Standing, allowing for a tailored educational experience based on prior academic and professional backgrounds. Students complete 65 credits over 9 semesters for the Traditional and Human Service Experience tracks, while the Advanced Standing track requires 40-43 credits over 6 semesters. The curriculum includes both required and elective courses delivered online, supplemented by weekly live classroom sessions. Field internships are integral to the program, with options for one or two internships depending on the track.
